I was deeply touched by your e-mail. I’m so sorry to hear that your hair and neck got burned. I hope you’re all right now physically and psychologically. As to the evil eye you told me about, do not linger too much on it. Try to read Quaran every morning before coming to the university. you should not suppress your talents and deprive yourself of other people’s appreciation of you and your achievements because you’re worried about the evil eye. Being recognized by other people especially our teachers is a basic human need. Some of my former students are outstanding. They got A+ and A with me and nothing happened to them. I just do not want you to think about evil eyes. Good and evil are in Allah’s hands. You’re smart, hardworking and ambitious and I think you deserve the best in life. You’re still in your prime and a whole future is a head of you. You can get what you want in life wherever you are, whether you are here or in the States. It all depends on you and on your will-power and self-determination. It is too early to abhore the university. You have not experienced anything yet. Even if you do, such hardships shape our personality and make us stronger. I hate to see you down and depressed. I noticed that you are too quiet in class and you’re keeping a low profile. You are not even as talkative as your classmates. I’d wish that you ignore everything you hear from the girls and don’t let it bother you.
